Description:

Students will introduce themselves by sharing their name and something they like that starts with the same letter. This fun activity helps with name recognition, letter associations, and finding common interests.

Materials

  • None

Steps:

1: Form a Circle

  • Have participants sit in a circle where everyone can see and hear one another.

2: Introduce the Activity

  • Explain the game:

    • "Each person will say their name and share something they like that starts with the same letter as their name."

    • Example: “My name is Tanya, and I like tomatoes.”

3: Take Turns Sharing

  • Go around the circle, giving each participant a chance to share.

  • Provide gentle encouragement and allow participants to pass if needed.

Optional Memory Challenge

  • After everyone has had a turn, ask a volunteer to try and recall each person’s name and what they like.
